Lahore: On Friday, the Dutch company expressed its intention of investing in a government project of Ravi Riverfront Urban Development, as well as a proposal to build several renewable and desalination and power plants in Karachi and Lahore.
According to the disclosed details, AWTEC Netherland officials met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister – Imran Khan, in Islamabad. They stated their willingness to invest approximately $ 1.3 billion in constructing proposed industrial plants in Sindh province.
The event was attended by officials from the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and Pakistan Islands Development Authority. The PM Imran Khan said the projects proposed by AWTEC Netherland would help the government to provide quality housing in both developed and developing cities across Pakistan.
He also highlighted the obstacles to industrial development and the absence of adequate waste disposal measures; Noting that the coastal areas of Pakistan have been polluted because of the open landfill of municipal solid waste.
