Six Major Areas targeted by Govt for Karachi’s development

Islamabad: According to a news source, central and Sindh government formed a committee to seriously target six priority areas for Karachi’s development. The six-member committee will ensure that the ongoing construction and development projects in the city smoothly reach their scheduled completion date.

The committee planned to work on priority areas water supply and sewerage management, solid waste disposal, infrastructure construction, transport, and removal of encroachments. 

The purpose is to overcome the impediments pertaining to the already initiated projects like the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR), K-IV water supply system of Karachi, and Karachi S-III Mega Sewerage Project, with mutual consultations. Minister for Planning & Development Asad Umar stated that the final project list will be brought to the surface within two weeks, along with the further division of responsibilities between federal and Sindh Government.
