Rawalpindi: In a meeting led by Tariq Mahmoud, chairman of the Rawalpindi Development Authority RDA approved the creation of ten economic zones along the Rawalpindi Ring Road project.

Development work will begin in the economic zones as soon as possible to provide ease and to help the business community, which in turn will help the economy to boost.

Deputy CFO, RDA officers Muhammad Junaid Taj Bhati, members of the Islamabad and Rawalpindi Chambers of Commerce, and Deputy Director of Engineering Azizullah and other related officials attended the meeting.

RDA has previously approved the construction of several SEZs (Special Economic Zones) projects, including medical, residential, industrial, aviation, educational, and entertainment projects, which will be built along the Rawalpindi ring road which is 65.8km long.

Furthermore, industrial areas, a dry port, wholesale markets, shopping centers, theme parks, industrial areas, residential buildings, and transport terminals will be built on both sides of the ring road.
