LAHORE: The final stage of the process of appointing a consultant for the preparation of the Lahore master plan has been completed as the relevant subcommittee has completed its consideration of the technical proposals submitted by the three shortlisted companies and submitted its report to the Consultants Selection Committee.
On Monday, LDA CEO Ahmed Aziz Tarar chaired the Consultant Selection Committee meeting. The meeting was informed that three consortia, counting Dar Al-Handasah (Lebanon), Meinhardt (Singapore), and Nespak (Pakistan), have been shortlisted of seven companies that have expressed interest in preparing the Lahore master plan.
The meeting participants were informed of the noteworthy progress in the preparation of the Lahore Master Plan 2050, and at the final stage of the consultant hiring process, the analysis of technical proposals from the three selected companies was completed.
Director general Ahmed Aziz Tarar said the new master plan will define Lahore’s future development path. Therefore, the transparent preparation of the master plan for the period up to 2050 was our highest priority. He added that the first consultations were held with Lahore citizens, academia, technical experts, and other stakeholders before finalizing the roadmap for Lahore’s development for the next three decades.
