Rawalpindi: The government of Punjab has allocated 150 million Pakistani rupees to the FWO (Frontier Works Organization) to begin work on the Daducha dam within two to three weeks.
According to the disclosed details, the completion of the Daducha Dam is expected to cost Rs 6.429 billion. A senior district administration official said that the acquisition of land for the project is ongoing and that the relevant authorities have begun the process of payments to private sector landowners. He confirmed that the land ransom would end soon. It turned out that the contractor company will begin working on the diversion (flushing pipe) and water conduit at the opening stage.
The dam will be built on the Sawan/Soan River, and rainwater from the Murree and Kahuta hills will be kept in a lake on Kahuta Street in the village of Daducha. The water inflow to the dam will be 77,000 cusecs, and the estimated flow will be 42,000 cusecs. WASA will construct a treatment plant along the main drinking water supply line to the city of Rawalpindi.
