Digitization of Punjab urban properties’ record by BOR

Lahore: The Board of Revenue (BOR) has been tasked with digitizing all property records found in Punjab cities, a news source said on January 12. Previously, this task was assigned to the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA).

Last year, the project was delayed for various reasons, therefore, to speed up the process, now it will be implemented only by BOR. The Council will carry out digitization tasks in cooperation with the World Bank. Records of all multi-story buildings, commercial and residential properties will be digitized.

Speaking to the media, a PLRA spokesman said the two regional bodies had previously held meetings with the World Bank to move forward on this issue. However, according to a recent decision, the BOR will conduct the process of digitization independently with the assistance of the World Bank.
