ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reviewed the Islamabad Metro Bus project and took notice of the delay in the project yesterday, saying that it was the nation’s money and there was no justification for the delay.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said in a statement that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reached Peshawar at 7 am to inspect the ongoing work on Islamabad Metro Bus.
He said that the project started in 2017 under Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and was to be completed in 2018. There was a delay of five years and the project did not start.
Maryam Aurangzeb further said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had directed CDC to run Metro Bus Service from Peshawar Road to Airport on Saturday 16 April.
The Prime Minister also directed to run metro bus service from Bihar Kahu and Rawat to Peshawar turn and expedite the feasibility of motorway connection.
Maryam Aurangzeb further said that the Prime Minister has ordered to run free metro service for the citizens during the holy month of Ramadan. In the holy month of Ramadan, the citizens will get free travel facilities.
