LAHORE: According to a news source, on Sunday, the newly-appointed Lahore Development Authority (LDA) chief engineer took charge of his seat and visited different ongoing projects in Lahore.
Chief Engineer Mazhar Hussain Khan told that he wanted to speed up the work on the projects and he would ensure the quality of the construction material. He said no compromise would be made on the construction standards in mega projects.
Recently the Punjab government removed LDA Chief Engineer Abdul Razzaq on delay in completion of various development projects and appointed Mazhar Khan as chief engineer. The main purpose of this change was to expedite ongoing development projects in the City, LDA officials said, adding Mazhar Khan had already served as LDA chief engineer and had completed some of the mega projects in the City.
Mazhar Khan said that he would complete the electrification works at the mega project of LDA City on priority while gas-related infrastructure too would be completed as soon as possible.
Further, he said the project of construction of sports complexes in different areas of Lahore would be completed soon. And various projects related to the patchwork of City roads and provision of missing facilities like streetlights in Johar Town, Gulberg and other localities would also be completed on a priority basis.
