Lahore: according to a news source, on Tuesday, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar issued an ordinance that segregates Kasur, Nankana Sahib, and Sheikhupura from Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
The Governor House issued a handout that states that the ordinance has been issued according to the desires of provincial ministers, assembly members, and the demands of the public at large.
Moreover, the Governor said in a statement that the people, ministers, and members of the assembly were constantly demanding to take three districts out of LDA jurisdiction. Further, he said, “The PTI government is making decisions according to the aspirations of the people and providing relief to the people in every sector”.
Government Plans Commercial Courts
Governor Punjab issued another ordinance to set up commercial courts in five districts of Punjab including Lahore.
In this regard, a special event was conducted in the Governor House Lahore to issue the ordinance. Provincial Minister for Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal, Lahore High Court and Lahore Chamber of Commerce, Principal Secretary to Governor Dr Rashid Mansoor and officials from relevant departments were also present at the event. Commercial courts need to decide the pending cases within 180 days.
Furthermore, the Governor said that set up of Commercial courts will restore the confidence of investors in the government and legal system. Likewise, he observed, providing timely justice to the business community is the top priority of the government. They will not have to wait for years in the courts for decisions. They will ensure the timely delivery of justice through Commercial Courts”.
Mian Aslam Iqbal, the provincial minister, expressed that the government would facilitate the business community and Pakistan will be made prosperous.
