ISLAMABAD: As per the news source, the federal cabinet has instructed the Interior Ministry to develop a plan to revive the Islamabad metro bus service as a priority.

The federal cabinet has instructed the ministries of interior and communications to develop a plan to revive the metro bus service from Peshawar to Islamabad’s new international airport to facilitate passenger travel within the city.

The government has completed the installation of the electromechanical components, and the project’s infrastructure worked a year ago. However, it was impossible to transfer the project to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) due to some formalities. The CDA believes that one of the main problems is bus shortage. The CDA has proposed using surplus buses on the Rawalpindi-Islamabad bus service for the Islamabad metro project.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan also drew attention to the delay in the launch of the project and he ordered that immediate action be taken to launch the service so that passengers can travel smoothly on the bus.
