ISLAMABAD: Friedrich Elbert Stiftung (FES) and Pakistan’s National Assembly signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the House of Representatives to cooperate and support the parliamentary committee on the CPEC. The National Confessional Council, Taher Hussein and Regional Director of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Dr Jochen, signed a Memorandum of Understanding and represented their parties.

During the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding, the chairman of the parliamentary committee for the economic CPEC, Arbab Sher Ali, said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would become a vital factor for the country’s socio-economic development. This CPEC will double job opportunities and bring prosperity to the region, the chairman said.
He also indicated that this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to involve all stakeholders to accelerate the implementation of projects related to the corridor in the state’s interest. He also indicated that the Parliamentary Committee on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would take over all stakeholders to improve the efficiency of the CPEC and all its projects in Pakistan.

Director of FES, Dr Jochen Hepler praised the importance of CPEC. He also expressed his gratitude to the chairman of the parliamentary CPEC committee for signing this memorandum of understanding.
