Generation of 400bn expected in the first phase development of Ravi Urban Project

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan received a briefing on the first phase of an urban development project on the banks of the River Ravi. According to the disclosed details, the project (which will be built on 5,000 acres of land) is expected to create revenue of Rs 400 billion for the government.

The Prime Minister held a review meeting. The event was attended by Senator Shibli Faraz and Ali Haider Zaidi, Chairman of the Pakistan Housing Authority Naya, Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Haider, and Chairman of the Pakistani Islands Development Authority Imran Amin.

The meeting was attended by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, advisor to the Punjab Prime Minister Dr. Salman Shah, Special Assistant to the Director of Punjab Affairs Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Head of the Urban Development Authority in Ravi Rashid Aziz, and a number of other officials via video link. The Prime Minister was informed that 3,000 acres will be used to develop flood control initiatives and the remaining 2,000 acres will be used for major urban development. The first phase of the project is called Sapphire Bay, Moreover, land acquisition and road work for the project have also begun.
