3000 Kanals were approved for the first RDA housing scheme. The Rawalpindi Development Board approved the first 3000 Kanals to create the first housing scheme under the RDA.
A committee of 5 people was also formed, which within 15 days will present a report on the acquisition of land and other issues related to the project. The new RDA housing scheme will be developed in line with the LDA City plan in Lahore and will cover about 3,000 Kanals to serve a large segment of the population. An RDA official also agreed to a preliminary consultation to prepare a feasibility study to identify a suitable location for the project.
Moreover, the assembly also authorized the construction of RDA-licensed buildings on commercial roads under the new building codes. Mr Tariq Mahmoud chaired the forty-ninth session. The list of the meeting also included a plan to determine the direction of the future development of the city.
